“Yerevan Perspectives” International Festival launches it’s autumn concerts. After the opening ceremony concert which is scheduled for the 10th September, the next huge concert is world known pianist Evgeny Kissin’s concert. The concert will take place in Aram Khachatryan concert hall on September 27 within the framework of the festival as mentioned. Kissin will give a solo concert in Armenia and has personally chosen the format. He will be performing the works by classical composers, including Beethoven, Schubert, Haydn and Liszt. The concert will be in two parts.
The pianist is supposed to spend 5 days in Armenia, during these days he will visit some places of interest outside Yerevan. Besides, the organizers of the concert say that there will be some master classes for the students and Kissin is supposed to take part in them.
His first visit to Armenia was at the age of 13 with Mikhail Spivakov, when the latter came here with a concert: “Virtuosos of Moscow”. And even Kissin is a great friend of Armenia, it has taken many years to get his agreement to perform during the festival. By the years the festival’s reputation grew and already in 2008 Kissin personally asserted contacts with festival authorities and stated he will visit Armenia four years later.
At the age of 17, Evgeny started playing with the Berlin Philharmonic, which is a rare fact. He gave his first concert with an orchestra performing Mozart’s 20th Concerto at the age of 10. Today, Kissin tours Europe, America and Asia and has over a dozen international awards. Renowned pianist Kissin received the great deal of most prestigious awards in the sphere, including two Grammy Awards for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without orchestra) in 2006 and 2009 .
