An annual exhibition of food products ArmProd EXPO 2012 opened in Yerevan on Friday. It will last till 21 October. The exhibition has been organized by Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia (UMB(E)A). Food and beverage producers and suppliers from Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) are participating in the exhibition. Representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, whose products have already attracted the domestic market, will also participate in the expo
According to the minister of Agriculture Armenia has a leading position in the region in terms of food industry.
Premier Tigran Sargsyan also visited the exhibition on Friday.
Wine and brandy producers, dairy producers as well as poultry farms have active participation in the exhibition. It is considered to be one of the major events of the year that will bring together leading food and beverage companies, suppliers and distributors. Armenia’s largest exhibition – Agroforum – is scheduled to take place on October 20 within the framework of ArmProd EXPO 2012 exhibition. Agroforum is dedicated to the development of agriculture and agricultural products processing.
