This year under the support of the Municipality of Yerevan the International Advertising Festival “Popok” is being held which has been initiated by the advertising public of Armenia. The solemn ceremony of opening the festival took place in the City Hall of Yerevan on October 25.
On October 25-27 on October 25-27 some authoritative companies from 15 countries will compete for 6 main nominations and the additional nomination “Book” , which has been added as this year Yerevan is announced World Book Capital 2012: the organizers point out that such nomination has never been announced at any advertising festival.
During the festival, a new outdoor advertising and decoration concept for Armenia’s capital will be discussed and it’s a fine occasion to discuss the issue of Yerevan branding.
The festival will become a platform to listen to the opinions of authoritative designers on the problems existing in the city and finding their solutions.
The president of “Popok” international Advertising Festival Armen Martirosyan highly appreciated the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan to support such an event and informed that within the previous two years the festival had become a place of meeting for famous companies.
The stated goal of the festival is to develop Armenian advertising via educational programs, and by comparing the country’s ad market with others, applying international standards for improvement.
