A tribute to an instrument that touches the hearts

After opening the new season for the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, a new cultural event is kicking off : “Pan Armenian Duduk Festival”.  The opening of  “Pan-Armenian Duduk festival” has taken place on September 14th in “Moscow” cinema in the framework of “My Armenia” pan-Armenian festival. Armenian duduk players from different countries of the world will give concerts in Yerevan and other cities of Armenia.

For the first time the festival has brought together Armenian duduk players from Armenia and Diaspora.  The festival will continue through September 18 and will feature 30 participants.

The Armenian duduk is the most ancient and most national instruments that sparks interest among many people in different countries. The duduk has a sound that touches the soul, and has a special place among national musical instruments. Armenian duduk stepped into universal stage becoming not only Armenian, but also a universal symbol.

This duduk festival is exceptional in its type. So, those who love the sound of the duduk can expect concerts in: Gyumri on September 15, Gavar on September 16. In addition, there will be performances by the best performers at the Hakob Paronyan State Musical Comedy Theater on great duduk player Vache Hovsepyan’s birthday on September 17 and more performances during the solemn closing ceremony of the festival at Aram Khachatryan Large Concert Hall on September 18.
