The international governing body for boxing (AIBA) announced the new host city, venue and the dates for the AIBA Youth Men’s World Boxing Championships – one of the most prestigious event for young boxers of 17 and 18 years of age. The 2012 edition of the championships will be organised by Boxing Federation of Armenia from November 25th to December 8th, 2012 in the capital city of Yerevan. The competition will be held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex. During the competition the 2012 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships will once again witness the best youth boxers in the world compete in hopes of international stardom. To mention, Armenia hosted world championship and AIBA appreciated the organizers work for the championship.
World championship is the second important boxing event after the Olympic Games. The tournament is held on the initiative of boxing federation with the support of Sport Ministry and National Olympic Committee. AIBA members have already visited Armenia to check the organization works.
